The Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc Departmental Tourism Committee, in conjunction with local tourism, wine, and gastronomy stakeholders, announces the commitment of the Faucigny-Glières, Haut-Rhône, and Destination Léman regions to the "Vineyards & Discoveries" certification process. This initiative marks a turning point: the Haute-Savoie region is thus affirming its commitment to further promoting its wine tourism, gastronomy, and cultural heritage.
Haute-Savoie, a region ideal for wine tourism
The Haute-Savoie region is often perceived through its magnificent alpine landscapes, its natural setting, its ski resorts and its large lakes. Beyond these numerous assets, it also possesses strong potential in terms of vineyards, local gastronomy and authentic cultural experiences .

A mountain destination with wine-growing charm to explore
A complementary relationship between mountains, gastronomy, and vineyards that could be a key differentiating factor!
The territory benefits from an exceptional natural environment, a diverse built and intangible heritage (villages, traditions, know-how) and a gastronomic offering focused on local products, promoting a wine tourism experience.
For the wine tourism visitor, this setting offers real added value: beyond the cellar visit, it is about experiencing a stay where wine, landscape, walking, heritage and gastronomy come together.
The commitment of the Faucigny-Glières, Haut-Rhône and Destination Léman territories
The choice of territories in Faucigny-Glières, The Haut-Rhône and Destination Léman initiative to pursue the labeling process is part of a targeted territorial development strategy: leveraging its identity, mobilizing local stakeholders (winegrowers, producers, accommodation providers, restaurateurs, tourist offices) and structuring a coherent wine tourism offering.
The objective: to make the "Vineyards & Discoveries" labeled area a recognized destination for the quality of its wine tourism experience , and to offer visitors an authentic immersion in the Haute-Savoie terroir, at the crossroads of vineyards, mountains, and local know-how through:
The mobilization of the wine and gastronomic sectors of the industry;
Coordination between service providers (accommodation, catering, tours, wine cellar) in order to build a smooth and attractive wine tourism route;
And the promotion of the offer to targeted customer groups (experiential tourism, vineyard visits, gastronomy, short stays).

The "Vineyards & Discoveries" label: objectives, criteria and procedures
The "Vineyards & Discoveries" label, created in 2009, aims to distinguish tourist and wine-related destinations that offer a multiple and complementary range of services (accommodation, catering, cellar visits and tastings, cultural sites, events, etc.) allowing customers to easily organize their stay and be directed towards qualified services.
It is awarded by Atout France, after recommendation from the Higher Council for Wine Tourism, for a period of 3 years.
For a territory or destination to be awarded the label, the following conditions apply:
The territory must offer a structured tourism package centered around the vineyard: accommodation, catering, visits, tasting, heritage, leisure.
The services offered must be of high quality, networked, and accessible to national and international clients.
The stakeholders (winegrowers, cellars, accommodation, restaurants, etc.) must commit to a quality and hospitality approach, and comply with the national specifications.
By committing to the Vignobles & Découvertes (Vineyards & Discoveries) label, the destination aims to:
To structure and promote a recognized wine tourism offering in a territory with a strong identity.
To promote the winegrowers, cellars, restaurants and accommodations that bring the Haute-Savoie terroir to life.
To offer visitors stays combining vineyards, hiking, gastronomy and heritage.
Strengthening the attractiveness of the territory in the intermediate season (spring/autumn) and with customers sensitive to the experience - terroir, wine, nature.

In the medium term, the labelling of the territory as a "Vineyards & Discoveries" destination will open the way to a strengthening of local employment in the tourism, wine and gastronomy sectors; a diversification of the tourism offer of Haute-Savoie beyond the traditional mountains; the organisation of thematic wine tourism events and a better national and international visibility of the destination as a "mountain vineyard" .
Through this labelling project, Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc confirms its desire to place the territory in a sustainable and differentiating dynamic : that of wine tourism combined with the mountain exception, local gastronomy and heritage experience.
By combining vineyards, mountains, expertise and tourist services, Haute-Savoie positions itself not only as a winter and summer paradise , but also as a fully-fledged wine tourism destination.
